The CES Story
Education is the Key
Rhett Bratt believes that education is the key to individual success.
Rhett also believes that a society's most important role is to enable people
to achieve all they can. This is why he thinks it is everybody's job
- business people, parents, teachers, all of us - to make our education
system strong and vibrant.
Walking the Talk
Putting these beliefs into practice, Rhett volunteered to teach an
eighth-grade class through Junior Achievement's Project Business. Hearing
of other business-education partnerships, he saw the possibility of multiplying
the effectiveness of these programs. He envisioned a clearinghouse of
information -- a place where schools and companies looking for successful
programs could:
- find ideas
- develop networks with other
organizations
- share their successes
Before the world wide web, creating such a resource
was nearly impossible. Today, this idea and the basic desire to bring
"non-traditional" resources into public education, has become The
Center for Education Solutions.
A Little Help From His Friends
Next, Rhett called on some of his friends and colleagues to build an organization
dedicated to improving our education systems. Now, CES has a
Board of Directors
, eleven members strong, all committed to the idea that better education
leads to a better quality of life for everyone.
Join Us
We are educators and businesspeople, consultants and homemakers, baby boomers
and Gen-X, parents and children. We are women and men, just like you, who
share a common goal: to deliver the promise of education to as many people
as possible. If you think that's worth doing, we invite you to join us.
